String End Bottle – Upcycle

Need a container for your string ends? Look no further! Upcycle an extract bottle into a string end bottle using this tutorial.

Be sure to do this in a well ventilated area!

SUPPLIES:
empty extract bottle
letter stickers
glass etching cream (I used Armour Etch)
foam brush or other product for applying etching cream
contact paper or tape (or music note sticker)
music note punch (or music note sticker)
label residue remover (like Goo Gone)
rubbing alcohol
cotton balls (or other material to use with residue remover and rubbing alcohol)

Picture

Wash your bottle and peel off the label. Remove any residue with a remover such as Goo Gone. Make sure to clean off any remaining remover.

Clean your de-labeled bottle with rubbing alcohol and a new cotton ball.

Picture

Punch a music note out of a small square of contact paper or tape. Alternatively, you could use a music note sticker.

Picture

Use your letter stickers to spell out “string ends” on your clean bottle.

Add the little music note.
Line the edges of the bottle with tape (where you don’t want to etch).

Cover the part of your bottle that you want etched with etching cream. I’ve found that it works best if you let it set on there for quite a bit longer than the directions say.

Wipe/rinse off your etching cream and peel off your stickers.
Enjoy your new string end bottle!
