So I might or might not enjoy making things from trash. (Spoiler alert: I do….just see the harp string crafts category.) Anyway, I got some used sax keypads from this lovely music store (if you visit, tell ’em I sent you!) & made some pretty simple button-style earrings.

SUPPLIES
- epoxy
- scrap paper (I think this is from a draft of this arrangement*) – or something for mixing the epoxy on/in
- toothpick – or something to mix the epoxy with
- earring posts & backs
- 2 used saxophone keypads
I don’t think I used the wire cutters/pliers…maybe to place the earring posts onto the backs of the keypads?
Are you ready for this tutorial? It’s pretty short, but I think the results are pretty cute!
Mix the epoxy according to the directions.
Place some epoxy on the back of the button, toward the edge. Add some to the earring posts too. Put them together & repeat on the other set.
Allow to dry according to epoxy’s directions, then wear them!
If the posts match, that’s cool…or you can use 2 slightly different ones like me. 🙂
I tried to wipe the green stuff off with rubbing alcohol, but it didn’t work. Also, I switched out the earring backs for some plastic-y ones.
Are you going to make some of these? Please show me on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter by tagging me & using #Fischarper, or in the comments below!
