I have yet to host a music summer camp, but I’d really like to do it at some point. Here’s a little roundup of inspiration if you’re thinking of planning camp for your studio.
- You could really take this idea from Katie Morris at Adventures of an Art Teacher having to do with Holst’s The Planets and run. It would be fun to do a week-long camp based on this piece of work.
- You might consider having a word wall for your camp (or even throughout the year!). You could use this with any age (here‘s a post from B’s Book Love explaining how she uses a word wall in her high school English classroom).
- Color in My Piano has a whole section on the topic.
- Teach Piano Today’s blog also has some ideas.
- I found two posts (here and here) on Susan Paradis’s website, which could also prove quite helpful.
Have you hosted summer music camps? What are your top suggestions? Let me know in the comments, on Facebook, on Instagram, or on Twitter.
