Trim two felt triangles with rounded corners. My pieces of felt were already in triangles, so I just needed to trim them to even(ish) pieces and round the corners. If your felt has a right side and a wrong side, make sure these pieces are mirror images when both are faced right side up.

Sew on strings. You can do these in the order of a real harp, or you can make them all one color. It might be easiest to space them if you start with the top and bottom strings, add the middle string(s), then add the ones between them. Or vice versa. Or you could start in the middle and work out. It’s up to you. You might also try sketching out the strings with chalk or disappearing ink.

Sandwich your pieces together, right side out. Start stitching around the edges, but make sure to leave a hole that’s plenty big to stuff the toy with catnip.

Stuff with catnip and finish stitching around the edges.

Depending on the size of your toy, you might be able to get away with sandwiching the catnip between the two pieces of felt and beginning your sewing then.

Give it to your cat and take blurry pictures of her until she accidentally throws it somewhere, then find it later. 🙂

Who would you like to make this for? Be sure to leave me a picture in the comments, or send me one via Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. I’d love to see it!
