Love Does (Bob Goff) book review(ish)

Wait, but this is a music blog…why am I reviewing a Bob Goff book? Well, guess what! One of the stories in Love Does includes a harpist!

Bob Goff’s Love Does is so good. It was a pretty easy read & super inspirational. Also, quite funny. This guy’s a good story teller & encourager.

You can watch & listen to me talk about it in the video below, &/or read a few words in the text below that. (Also for whatever reason I seem to like to leave those tacky price stickers on books.)

I think I first found out about Bob Goff through Lauren Daigle (check out some of my LD covers here & here).

I don’t want to spoil the brief harp part, but it has to do with hitchhiking.

Let me touch on a few of the other stories to further whet your appetite. They include a gassy story (yes, gas…like flatulence…how can a story about gas not be entertaining?), how he got into law school (that story is crazy), & how his family got to meet some big deal people in the world (a way cool story).

Another sweet (& humorous) story is how he pursued his wife (it included peanut butter & jelly sandwiches on her windshield…maybe endearing, maybe weird, depending on the girl 🙂 ). A tip for the gentlemen just in time for Valentine’s Day. 🙂

I’d been interested in reading this book, so when I saw it at a Goodwill, I snapped it up. This is very much a Christian-based book, but I think it’s certainly possible to enjoy it even if that’s not your worldview. I definitely recommend giving this book a read.

Oh and get this, as stated on the website, “All proceeds of Love Does go to support our international projects in Uganda, Somalia, Nepal, India and Somalia.” Isn’t that generous? I bought mine used, but if you get it new, it’s so nice that the proceeds are donated.

If you don’t have this book & want it, send me a message. If I still have this copy, I just might send it your way.

If you’ve read this book, what are your thoughts on it? Oh, & if you read this book, you need to read the reviews at the beginning. Some are quite amusing.
