Here’s a way to upcycle those letter openers you get free as advertisements. As you can see, I’m upcycling an upcycle in the pictures. 🙂
Steps
- Pry the little plastic cover off. Be careful with your harp fingers!
- Remove the cover and take out the advertisement (or in my case, a previous version).
- Trim your new insert using the original as a guide.
I used scrapbook paper that mimicked the look of pieces of sheet music. Some other cool options would be sheetmusic to a special song or decorated sheet music, You could also take a piece of paper and stamp it with a musical instrument rubber stamp. Or any other stamp…just trying to keep it with the music theme of the blog. 🙂 - Place your paper in the letter opener, and pop the clear cover back on (shown with cover in picture below).
