I posted about Music Lesson/Practice Bag Essentials for students, and this week it’s time for the teacher edition! It’s very similar to the student version, and just a starting point. If you teach out of your home or a studio where you keep your teaching supplies, you can still use this info, as you’ll likely want to keep these things at close reach. You might choose to carry less or more, and you might add supplies from week to week, depending on what your students are studying. I seem to have a habit of carrying too much around, especially the longer I’ve gone without going through my bag….anyone else?
- tuning key(s) (if teaching harp)
- stickers!
- lesson role/payment book/schedule (you can see some of my thoughts on payment here)
- receipt book
- pouch or other storage for payment
- prize pouch (LINK)
- tuner (or phone app)
- metronome (or phone app)
- pencils
- pens
- eraser(s)
- business cards (I’ve ordered from VistaPrint the last few times and have been happy with them!)
- snack(s) – especially if you tend to get cranky when you’re hungry 🙂
- I also like to keep some music flash cards with me
What do you carry in your teaching bag? Or what do you like to make sure is always near your teaching chair?
