Instructions
Board
I upcycled a board that stands on its own – kind of like a sandwich board – (actually I think my mom did it…thanks Mom!). All you do is glue a piece of felt to a sturdy board & let it dry.
Instruments
Download & print the page attached above (or come up with your own!).
Trace your instruments on your felt or fleece scraps.
Cut on the lines you traced onto the felt.
Here are the templates with their cut out fleece buddies.
Add details with paint & let dry.
Write out the name of each instrument on coordinating felt. I also color-coordinated the paint. Once dry, cut the words into rectangles.
This can be a take-home activity &/or a fun activity to switch up lesson time.
Here are some activity ideas:
- Listen to a recording of each instrument as you discuss it.
- Talk about which family each instrument belongs to.
- Identify the letters in each instrument’s name.
- Try or look at a real life example of each instrument.
- Teacher places an instrument on the board, & the student can find the correct label.
How would you like to use this activity? If you’re a classroom teacher, this could also be a center activity. Please share in the comments, or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!
