Is it kind of hard for anyone else to use sheet music in crafts?
Today’s project is great for a page that’s gone rogue or even if a page had something spilled on just part of it.
Supplies
- sheet music
- pencil
- eraser
- ruler
- paper cutter &/or scissors
- plain paper, larger than sheet music
- glue stick
- heavy item, such as a book
Check out a highlight video on the @Fischarperjr IGTV channel (& embedded at the bottom of this post). Actually, the real star of the video is the Fischarper CFO (Chief Feline Officer), Frances.
Instructions
- Trim or mark (on back) around sheet music to a whole-numbered width & height, such as 8″ x 10.”
- Using your pencil & ruler, make a light hash mark every inch across the width.
- Cut these strips. If you’re using a paper cutter, use that. Keep the strips in order.
- Using your pencil & ruler again, make a light hash mark every inch down the length of each of these strips.
- Cut these out. Keep the boxes in order.
- You should now have little squares. Arrange these in a combination of stacks & laid out to space them. (This probably doesn’t make much sense the way I wrote it. Refer to this video for clarification.)
- Glue each square down. It should look kind of like the music just separated into squares. If your assistant helps you get some out of order, it turns into a puzzle. 🙂
- Allow your art to flatten under a something heavy like a book to flatten.
- Sign & display your art!
What piece of music would you like to use as art? Let me know on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or in the comments below, & please be sure to share your art with me if you try this project!
