Next, assign the student what you’d like him/her to do. You can be specific (e.g. “make this into a bookmark with the notes on the treble clef in colored pencil”) or vague (e.g. “decorate this bookmark with musical things”).
You could even have the student choose and provide the material, but giving them a physical reminder outside of a note written in the student’s notebook might increase the likelihood that it gets done. Also, it can help you clean out. 🙂 (Anyone else need to clean out? Just me?).
