Running my business, I have the freedom to experiment and improve my business without the steps I’d need to go through in a big company. There’s also the added bonus/struggle of flexible hours!
So how did I end up doing this? I had a childhood dream to be a harpist, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t initially set out to run a business. Of course, the entrepreneurial boom that came with social media & easy internet access hadn’t happened yet (anybody else remember dial-up?). I’ve had multiple career aspirations, including (but not limited to): the queen (yes, I wanted to be the queen), college professor, & music teacher in an underprivileged area. I’m not totally sure how I ended up running a music biz, but it sure is cool!
The name Fischarper? I thought it was a combo of my last name, “Fischer” & “harper” (a harper is someone who plays a pedal-free harp), but apparently she just put the word “harp” in our last name. It was my mom’s 1st email address & she used the name for some of her business pursuits (like Making Harp Lessons Exciting For Young Children). Speaking of my mom, she is a lot of help with the business, & contributes a lot to the Fischarper TpT store. I “inherited” the name & now Fischarper is an LLC!
