In “At the Movies” I link to TV shows and/or movies that have music in them…often harps (of course!). These might (or might not) be resources you’d like to add to your lending library or assign for students to find as some fun, away-from-the-instrument homework!
Today’s installment features the 1995 version of A Little Princess.
Miss Minchen plays harp during “reading hour” & in the background at Sara’s birthday party. Watch for an old metronome on the piano during Sara’s birthday party, & listen for harp music in the background throughout the movie.
I haven’t seen this version of the movie in many years (probably over 20), if I’ve ever seen the whole thing. But I did see part of it not too long ago & spied a harp! All that to say, as usual, you should preview this before assigning it to your students to watch (and/or have a parent screen it if your student is a child).
What have you been enjoying on the tube lately? Let me know in the comments!
