It’s really nice to have recitals lined up ahead of time, but sometimes it seems like time just gets away! Here are 5 ideas if you’re putting together a Christmas performance last-minute.
- Consider having your recital at a retirement home. The residents (and employees) will likely love it, and it’s pretty low-pressure for students.
- Check with students and families to see if they have a relative, friend, or other connection at an assisted living facility.
- Encourage students to choose songs that are a bit easy for them. Especially if there’s not much time to prepare, this will lower the stress and increase the chance for a feeling of success.
- If your community has a clubhouse, consider using that for a small Christmas recital.
- Especially if it’s at a place like a clubhouse, consider calling it a “performance party” and having snacks or cookie decorating after.
